“But God raised Him from the dead” (Acts 13:30 NKJV). Those words continue to reverberate in our lives today.  Indeed, the reality of the resurrection changed the course of human history as well as our eternal destinies. The Christ Event made all the difference! And it still has the power to transform!

What an awesome time we had this past Resurrection Sunday as we celebrated the life-giving truth of Jesus’ victory over death! We rejoiced with three new believers as they identified with Him through baptism. We sang triumphant songs in praise to our reigning King. We read Scripture that declared that the Son of David lives even now. We experienced the authentic fellowship of joyful, hopeful believers. And we collectively recognized that one day He is coming back for us!  I say again, what an awesome time!

My friends, every Sunday should be like that. Every time we come together, there should be that sense of vitality and expectation. And to be honest, all our services should be filled to capacity. Why? Because our programs are so great? Our music is powerful? Our friends are there? The preacher is from Mississippi? Nope!!! Our facilities should be at maximum occupancy because we serve the Only One who defeated death, hell, and the grave through the resurrection! People should stream into our buildings because He alone is worthy of adoration! To be honest, we need to work diligently and pray fervently until our recent Easter attendance is our weekly attendance . . . and then we need to redouble our efforts to reach even more! We should never grow complacent nor be satisfied with where we are. Too much is riding on our faithfulness! For some, it could be the difference between heaven and hell!

I hope that you will join me as we continue to do everything we can to reach Ruston, Choudrant, Simsboro, Dubach, and North Central Louisiana for Christ. We have been strategically placed here to declare His glory. We must make it count! Will you make a visit or phone call this week to invite someone to worship with us? Write a note? Send a text? Let’s rise up to make this past Sunday a regular occurrence in the life of our church. And of course, as we reach our “Jerusalem,” we then can go to “Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.”

Lastly, I want to thank you for all you do to make His name great. Not only do you inspire me with your commitment to fellow believers, but you also encourage me through your zeal for His mission. For example, you already have given $47,658.21 toward the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to support our North American missionaries, and I believe you are going to help us exceed our $60,000 goal. Time and time again, you have shown your determination to follow the risen Lord. Keep it up! But let us all do even more daily! Time is passing quickly! We must make these moments count for the Kingdom! See you Sunday!
